Querida Gloria, querida María, querido Pedro, otros queridos,

Being in Granada (and Niquinohomo) was so good, so welcoming, so tender, so incredibly wonderful, so overwhelming… I am still quite speechless. This morning I suddenly knew what I want to do, to return some kind of favour, to show at least part of my gratitude… I am going to write three poems. One to (the festival in) Granada, one to (our visit to) Niquinohomo, and one to the sixteen Miss Nicaragua contestants (meeting them was the least expected of all unexpected!). I will write the poems in Dutch and have them translated into Spanish. I’ll send you both originals and translations. And I hope you can forward them to Niquinohomo and the sixteen extremely beautiful women.

Arjen Duinker. (Delft, 1956). Poeta y novelista neerlandés. Ha publicado la novela El Laberinto (1992) y 11 libros de poesía en Holanda. Ha sido merecedor del Premio Jan Campert (2001) por su obra La Historia de una Enumeración y el Premio VS de Poesía 2005 por El Sol y el Mundo. Su poema La Piedra Florece fue traducido a 200 idiomas para un proyecto llamado Poesía del Mundo.
